About

Vicki Malone's  love of plants and nature began in her grandmother’s beautiful garden in Kansas City.  She has lived on the East Coast for over forty years, working as an editorial assistant, teacher, and artist.  

Her art has been shown at the Corcoran Museum of Art, Monticello Library, United States Botanic Garden, Delaware Art Museum, and galleries in the Washington, D.C. area. Her work has appeared in Native Plants of the Mid Atlantic, America’s Flora, and front and back covers of Simple Gifts:  Holidays at the White House 2010. 

Vicki is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region. 

Her book Can We Save Them?  An Alphabet of Species in Danger was published in 2022 and can be purchased through AmazonBarnes and Noble, and Mascot Publishing.

Vicki Malone was born and raised in Kansas and holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Kansas, and a certificate of Botanical Art from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C.  

She lives with her husband in Chevy Chase, Maryland, has three grown sons and four wonderful grandchildren.
